The Edmonton Oilers defeated the visiting Vegas Golden Knights 6–3 on December 14, 2024

Rogers Place erupted in four goals in the second period to secure their fifth straight win and improve to 18–10–2.

Scoring: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins opened on a power play at 17:36 of the first (from Evan Bouchard and Leon Draisaitl). In the second, Zach Hyman made it 2–0, Connor Brown 3–0 (from Nugent-Hopkins), Corey Perry 4–0, and Jeff Skinner 5–0. Victor Olofsson replied for Vegas late in the second (from Tomas Hertl), followed 26 seconds later by Ivan Barbashev (from Noah Hanifin). Draisaitl added a power-play goal in the third; Brett Howden scored for VGK.

Goaltending: Stuart Skinner (EDM) stopped 38 of 41 shots; Adin Hill (VGK) allowed 5 goals on 22 shots before being pulled (Ilya Samsonov relieved with 9 saves on 10).

Notes: Draisaitl (1G, 2A) extended his multipoint streak to five games (5G, 8A in span); Brown and Nugent-Hopkins each had 1G, 1A. Oilers won eight of nine, pulled within three points of Pacific-leading Vegas (19–8–3, ended four-game win streak); EDM outshot VGK 34–41 but dominated second period 16–2 in shots.
